Application Trends
Rows expand from the section labels; Outcomes starts open. All applications, college student applications, and SSI household applications use different recipes — they cannot overlay on one chart. Student outcomes are share of applications disposed (approved or denied). Pended applications are still in process and sit on hover, not in the mix. When the nine denial-reason columns are close to Denied, the mix is Approved / Ineligible / Procedurally Denied / Other; otherwise Approved / Denied. SSI outcomes are Approved / Denied until ineligible and procedural are close to Denied, then that split (plus Other for a small leftover). Hover on a stacked mix includes the count those percents are of. SSI Denial details is households with only SSI recipients (not the some-SSI mix above). Channels uses GetCalFresh, BenefitsCal / Other Online, and Other. On SSI, GetCalFresh is labeled GetCalFresh (SSA) and isSSA_GCF_apps_submit subtracted from Online SSI. Age, Language, Race, Gender, Household size, and Exemptions & deductions are who applied that month, not approval rates by group. Exemptions and deductions overlap — they are shares claiming each type, not a 100% mix. CDSS replaces counts under 11 with an asterisk; those slices are plotted as 5. Hover percents then start with ~ and note that some data was masked. Larger hidden totals, and counties that did not report, stay blank. Student Denial details ungroups the large reason types (ineligible, over income, failed to provide income, failed determination, missed interview, procedural); Other is unavailable, out of the home, ineligible CF student, and residual.
